Dear Francis

I refer to your email of Thursday 31 October 2024 for information on the
Prime Ministers’ trip to Laos in October 2024. The Official Information
Act 1982 (OIA) requires that a decision on your request be provided no
later than 20 working days after the day your request was received.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and this
email is to notify you of an extension of the time to make a decision, to
Friday 20 December.

This extension is necessary because the consultations necessary to make a
decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably
be made within the original time limit.

You retain the right, under section 28(3) of the OIA, to ask an Ombudsman
to review my decision to extend your request.

Regards
