I refer to your request of 13 November 2024.   We apologise for the delay
in providing a response. The University’s response follows.

“I have seen a previous request from 2022 about the estimated cost of the
recreation centre being $320,000,000. Can you please provide a breakdown
of the final costs, as well as the total cost spent, in comparison to the
estimated costs, as well as the reasons behind the increase/decrease in
cost vs estimate in the breakdown if any.”

 

Whilst the University’s new sport and recreation centre has officially
opened, the project itself is still ongoing, and the final financial
accounts are still under negotiation.

 

As the total cost spent, and therefore breakdown of final costs is yet to
be finalised, your request is refused under section 18(g) of the OIA, as
this information is not held.

You have the right to make a complaint to an Ombudsman if you are
dissatisfied with this response.
