REQUEST FOR INFORMATION - LOCAL GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL INFORMATION AND MEETINGS ACT 1987: ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF REQUEST

I am writing to acknowledge receipt of your official information request dated 12 December 2024 for information regarding Hutt City Council’s removal of NZCPR’s insert of Sir Āpirana Ngata’s “The Treaty of Waitangi – an Explanation” from its premises.
We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible and in any event no later than 20 working days after the day your request was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe. If the information is no longer required please let us know, it would be much appreciated.

Dear Hutt City Council,

Please supply all communications and information as specified under 1) and 2) below during 2024 relevant to the Hutt City Council’s removal of NZCPR’s insert of Sir Āpirana Ngata’s “The Treaty of Waitangi – an Explanation” from its premises:

1) Communications and or information in any form between the mayor and/or councillors and/or HCC officers.

2) Communications and/or information in any form sent to or received by HCC officers and/or councillors and/or the mayor to or from Stuff and/or the Hutt News.

3) the identity of the officer who issued a directive for removal of the Ngata insert sent to HCC council facilities, including the council's libraries, at 5.07pm on 1 February 2024.
