Is it possible to request the PRN of an inmate being held within the Extreme Risk Unit, and if so, are they able to receive emails or are they limited to correspondence through letters only?

For your information, the Department of Corrections’ policy regarding the sending and receiving of mail by prisoners is outlined in our Prison Operations Manual. This is available on our website here - https://www.corrections.govt.nz/resource...
As you will note, mail is sometimes withheld. These decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. Generally, any mail that is withheld from being delivered to a prisoner is returned to the sender.
