I would like to request the internal policy in relation to the investigation and prosecution of all offences relating to Cannibis possession and supply (under s 6 of the Misuse of Drugs Act).

I refer to your email of 2 April 2016 requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982, the following:
1. “The internal policy in relation to the investigation and prosecution of all offences relating to cannabis possession and supply (under s 6 of the Misuse of Drugs Act)”

Question 1
This information is more closely connected with the functions of the New Zealand Police. Therefore, in accordance with section 14(b)(i) of the Official Information Act 1982, we have transferred your request to the New Zealand Police.
Officials from the New Zealand Police will respond to your request in due course.
Question 2
The Ministry of Justice has no record of the information you seek, therefore we are refusing your request under section 18(g) of the Act.
