Ben Moore made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
The request was partially successful.
From: Ben Moore
Dear New Zealand Police,
I request information on the number of Police alcohol checkpoints in the Wellington Police District which have been deployed with any other purpose than enforcing traffic alcohol laws.
I request two years of information covering:
1. The total number of alcohol checkpoints deployed;
2. The total number of alcohol checkpoints deployed where the primary rationale for deployment was other than enforcing traffic alcohol laws;
3. For those identified where the primary rationale for deployment was other than enforcing traffic alcohol laws, I request details on what the alternative rationale was.
I confirm I am a New Zealand citizen, currently resident in New Zealand.
Kind Regards,
Ben Moore

Thankyou for your response. I received some correspondence over the weekend that this request had been forwarded to MoJ (which seemed a little odd to me), can you confirm this is not the case?
Thanks for the clarification.
