Dear Tairawhiti District Health Board,
Could you please provide the total number of hospital beds from 2006 to 2016 at Tairawhiti District Health Board. Yearly count will be great. Please note that the bed volume is the count of physical bed capacity ( i.e. bed spaces). The count includes beds, roller beds, lazy-boys etc. The data does not include patient occupancy volumes.

To date, I haven't received any acknowledgement or communication regarding my request.

Thank you for your email, in which you requested information under the
Official Information Act 1982, about the number of hospital beds at Hauora
Tairāwhiti facilities.
Hauora Tairāwhiti provides hospital services from one hospital - Gisborne
Hospital.
Gisborne Hospital has 110 beds in the Emergency Department, Children's,
Medical, Surgical, Rehab, ICU/CCU, Orthopaedic and Mental Health wards.
This figure has not changed in the last 10 years.
The bed volume is a count of physical bed capacity (ie bed spaces). This
count includes beds, roller
beds, lazy-boys etc. This data does not include patient occupancy volumes.
Beds in our Day of Surgery, Medical Day Unit and Dialysis Unit have not
been included as they for use with outpatient appointments.
