From: Luke Duncan
Dear Eugenie Sage,
I request that you provide correspondence between Eugenie Sage and the department of conservation
I am hoping to identify the person who is responsible for breaching the trust of public land users who are dependent on the tahr resource for either commerce of recreational use.
Yours faithfully,

Tēnā koe Mr Duncan,
On behalf of Hon Eugenie Sage, I acknowledge your email of 11 October 2018
(included below) in which you submitted an Official Information Act
request for “correspondence between Eugenie Sage and the department of
conservation”.
Minister Sage is considering your request in accordance with the Act, and
you can expect a response by 9 November 2018.
Please note, in interpreting your request, I have assumed that you are
requesting all correspondence between Minister Sage and the Department of
Conservation in relation to the proposed tahr cull. If this is not the
case, please get in touch and we will change the scope of the request
accordingly.

Kia ora Mr Duncan,
I refer to your Official Information Act request of 11 October regarding
tahr control (copied below).
This email is to advise you that the 20 working day period to respond to
your request is being extended, as allowed under section 15A(1) of the
Official Information Act 1982. You will receive a response no later than
16 November, earlier if possible.
The extension of time is necessary as it requires a search through a large
quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would
unreasonably interfere with the operations of the Office. In addition, the
consultations necessary to make a decision on the request mean that a
proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit.
You have the right, under section 28(3) of the Official Information Act to
make a complaint to an Ombudsman about the extension.
