Good Afternoon,
I refer to your request below for information dated 3 Dec 2018 received on 3 Dec 2018 to Hon Iain Lees-Galloway, Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety requesting the following information:
“Any and all correspondence between you or your Ministry or your staff and Culturesafe NZ Ltd or any of its agents between September 23, 2017 and today, November 3, 2018.”
This email is to notify you that the Minister for Workplace Relations and Safety is transferring the following portion of your request to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE, the Ministry). This transfer is occurring because the information you requested is believed by the Minister to be held by the MBIE.
“Any and all correspondence between your Ministry and Culturesafe NZ Ltd or any of its agents between September 23, 2017 and today, November 3, 2018.”
In these circumstances, we are required by section 14 of the Official Information Act to transfer your request. You will hear further from MBIE concerning this part your request.
I am therefore acknowledging the following part of your OIA request:
“Any and all correspondence between you or your staff and Culturesafe NZ Ltd or any of its agents between September 23, 2017 and today, November 3, 2018.”
We received your request on 3 Dec 2018. We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible and in any event no later than 20 working days after the day your request was received.
If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe.
Yours Sincerely

3, 2018
Please note that the days from 25 December 2018 to 15 January 2019
(inclusive) are defined as non- working days in the Act and are not
counted in the calculation for the response due date. This will affect the
time period for responding to your request.

Good Morning,
I refer to your official information request dated 3 Dec 2019 for,
“Any and all correspondence between you or your staff and Culturesafe NZ Ltd or any of its agents between September 23, 2017 and today, November 3, 2018.”
The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to 28 Feb 2019.
This extension is necessary because your request necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with our operations, and consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
