Dear Parliamentary Counsel Office,

Please provide specific and explicit information on what counts as an "approved evidence of age document" re: sale and supply of alcohol.

Section 5 (1) of the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012 says

"approved evidence of age document—
(a)means a document of a kind approved by regulations made under this Act for the purposes of this definition; and

(b)in relation to a person, means an evidence of age document relating to the person"

However, this section does NOT specifically and explicitly state WHAT these documents are. I have gone through the act and do not want a roundabout answer.

Section 274, sub-section 4(b) says:

"(b)the age of any person may be proved by the production of—

(i)a birth certificate (within the meaning of section 2 of the Births, Deaths, Marriages, and Relationships Registration Act 1995) relating to the person; or

(ii)an approved evidence of age document; or

(iii)a passport relating to the person."

Again, I request explicit and specific information.
