Dear New Zealand Police,
In accordance with the Official Information Act, I am requesting a copy of Part 8 of the Police Manual on Search and Surveillance. I would also like other information regarding strip searches conducted on transgender and intersex people, specifically: other internal policies, complaints about searches carried out on transgender and intersex people, and the corresponding genders of the searched and searchers in searches of transgender and intersex people.
I would prefer to receive an electronic response; all responses to this request will be forwarded to me through fyi.org.nz.
With regards to s12 of the OIA, I am a New Zealand citizen and currently residing in Wellington, NZ. I am aware of my rights in regards to requesting information under the Official Information Act 1982, the Privacy Act 1993 and the Ombudsmen process.
