Regulatory Impact Statement for Immigration Amendment Bill
Alex Harris made this Official Information request to Department of Labour
The request was successful.
From: Alex Harris
Dear Department of Labour,
On April 30 2012, the Department published a Regulatory Impact Statement for the new Immigration Amendment Bill. This was a proactive disclosure, and parts of the RIS were withheld. I would therefore like to request the following information under the Official Information Act 1982:
* an _unredacted_ copy of the RIS for the new Immigration Amendment Bill
Obviously, s18(d) does not apply, as the publicly available copy is redacted.
If the Ministry wishes to continue to withhold information from the RIS, then I ask that it complies with good OIA practice and identifies the specific withholding grounds for each redaction so that they may be challenged if necessary.
I would prefer to receive an electronic response. Queries about this request will be automatically forwarded to me by the fyi.org.nz website.
Yours faithfully,
Alex Harris

Sadly, this hasn't resulted in the release of any additional information, but has at least forced DoL to say why they are withholding.
