I am a NZ citizen. I reside in Lower Hutt.
I request copies of all internal and external communications in relation to CRN:18096001618. I request copies of all email, letters, transcripts and notes made, sent or received by or between any of the following:
Mr Christopher John Bates - Complainant and owner of Open2view NZ
Mr Hamish Walker - Mr Bates Solicitor
Police Prosecutions Service
Ministry of Justice
Constable Christopher Thomson
Constable Eliot Mason
Constable M Reddington
Any other Police Officer
In particular I would like to see copies of interviews with or statements taken directly by Police from Mr Christopher Bates in relation to this matter.
Further, please provide the following;
Name of person who physically submitted complainants statement the Conastable Thonpson.
Date and time that Mr Bates was questioned about his staement to establish that it was not malicious.
This case is no longer before the courts and therefore the outcome of the case cannot be prejudiced by the supply of any information.

I have considered your request in accordance with the Official Information
Act 1982. I enclose a copy of some of the requested information. Some
information has been withheld pursuant to sections:
* Section 6(c) to avoid prejudice of the maintenance of the law,
including the prevention, investigation and detection of offences, and
the right to a fair trial;
* Section 9(2)(a) to protect the privacy of natural persons, including
that of deceased natural persons.
I have not disclosed email correspondence considered as part of your
request due to grounds specified in the Privacy Act 1993.
· Section 29(1)(a) to avoid the unwarranted disclosure of the
affairs of another individual or of a deceased individual.
The date of the statement made by Chistoper Bates was the 9th of April
2018 at 12:00pm.
Notebooks made by Constable MASON are attached.
If you are not satisfied with my response to your request you have the
right to complain to the Office of the Ombudsman and seek an investigation
and review of my decision.
