Resource consents for combustion discharges
Alex Harris made this Official Information request to Bay of Plenty Regional Council
The request was partially successful.
From: Alex Harris
Dear Bay of Plenty Regional Council,
The Bay of Plenty Regional Council controls discharges of contaminants from combustion sources under its Regional Air Plan. Rules 3 and 4 make discharges from small and medium combustion sources (up to 10MW for gas, and 5MW for coal) a permitted activity, if it complies with conditions, meaning no resource consent is required if those conditions are met. Discharges from combustion sources which do not comply with these conditions or which are larger than specified limits are covered under Rule 19 as a discretionary activity requiring a resource consent. I would like to request the following information under the LGOIMA:
* a list of all the resource consents in force for discharges from fuel burning equipment under Rule 19. For each consent I would like the date of issue, date of expiry, the fuel source for the combustion, and the power in kW or MW (if known) or maximum combustion rate (e.g. in tonnes per hour, if known).
I would prefer to receive an electronic response. Queries about this request will be automatically forwarded to me by the fyi.org.nz website.
Yours faithfully,
Alex Harris
