Details regarding contact from Cameron Moore on parody Roast Busters poster
Gavin Millar made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
The request was successful.
From: Gavin Millar
Dear New Zealand Police,
I am led to believe that earlier today (07/11/13) Cameron Moore, employed as Marketing Manager Recruitment for the NZ Police has threatened people posting parodies of NZ Police advertising targeting the inaction of the organisation in the "Roast Buster" case with criminal prosecution.
You can read about it here:
http://thedailyblog.co.nz/2013/11/07/bre...
Can you please provide all internal and external communication regarding the actions taken by Cameron Moore and others within NZ Police on this. I am especially interested in any information relating to who was aware of the threat of prosecution being made and whether it is within Cameron Moore's role to perform such actions.
Please note this request is intended to cover all types of communication including written, hand-written and verbal which is all covered (along with information stored in the heads of employees) under the information act.
I would prefer an electronic response, which can be emailed to me as a reply to this request.
Before you ask, yes I am a New Zealand citizen and entitled to make an OIA request. I look forward to your response no later than 6th December 2013.
Gavin Millar

New Zealand Police
Dear Mr Millar
I refer to your request of 7 November 2013 asking for communications
regarding actions taken by Campbell Moore and others within NZ Police.
The purpose of this letter is to notify you that Police require an
extension of time to 13 December 2013 in which to respond to your request,
pursuant to section 15A(1)(b) of the Official Information Act 1982,
because consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are such
that a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit.
You have the right to complain to the Office of the Ombudsmen about this
extension.
Yours sincerely
Teresa McMahon
