Dear Palmerston North City Council,
I want all communications, reports, notes, agendas, meeting attendance lists, minutes, advice and decision documents relating to the Speak Up for Women event planned for June at the Central Library or any other council owned or operated location. This should include any information made, sent, received, or commissioned by council staff and/or councillors.
For the avoidance of doubt, this should also include but not be limited to notes of all phone calls, meetings, any text messages, emails, instant messages, notes in note books or any other medium or form, and phone logs.
It can exclude form responses such as automated emails.

Hi Terry,
Council refers to your request made under the Local Government Official
Information and Meetings Act 1987. Your request for information was
received by Council on 22/6/2021.
Under Section 13 of the above Act, Council is required, as soon as
reasonably practical, and in no case later than 20 working days after the
date of which the request is received to:
(a) Decide whether the request is to be granted and, if it is to be
granted, in what manner and for what charge (if any); and

decision on the request.
For your request, the 20 working days period has been calculated as being

There are no minutes, text messages, advice, reports or decision documents
outside what has been compiled. Please note the information provided has
been redacted where indicated in the attachments:
o in accordance with s7(2)(a) Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987, to protect the privacy of individuals, in
particular the names of Council officers and members of the public.
Please note that in making this decision, it is considered that
disclosure may cause harm to Council’s ability to meet its Health and
Safety obligations as an employer, and its ability to engage with the
public on matters of interest to the community. We consider that the
public interest considerations favouring disclosure do not outweigh
the grounds for withholding in this instance.
o in accordance with s7(2)(c)(i) Local Government Official Information
and Meetings Act 1987, in particular to withhold the names and
information identifying community organisation/s. In making this
decision, it was considered that disclosure may cause harm to
Council’s ability to receive information in confidence from community
organisations. We consider that the public interest considerations
favouring disclosure in this instance do not outweigh the grounds for
withholding.
o In addition to the above, the agenda provided has been redacted as the
information is not relevant to your request.
o We have not provided legally privileged communication with lawyers
which is withheld in accordance with s7(2)(g) Local Government
Information and Meetings Act 1987
