Information on the doorway to Level 1 Rankine Brown
JD Nihils made this Official Information request to Victoria University of Wellington
The request was successful.
From: JD Nihils
Dear Victoria University of Wellington,
I would like to request information on the double set of doors at the northern-most entrance to Level 1 of Rankine Brown. These are the doors that are beside the entrance to Milk and Honey that are regularly out of order.
1. In what year were the current set of doors installed? Current including the previous internal swing doors despite the fact they were replaced with a sliding door last year.
2. Since that time, how many repair requests/maintenance issues have been logged for these doors?
3. Approximately how many days have these doors been unusable or broken since their installation?
4. What has been the total cost to the university to maintain and repair these doors?
5. Has the university made any plans to replace the design of these doors, or have any other designs been considered? If so, I'd like a copy of that information included as part of this request.
Yours faithfully,
JD Nihils

Dear Victoria University of Wellington,
Thank you for your previous response regarding my request for information on the Level 1 Rankine Brown doorway.
I have noticed that the door has now been repaired with a different design, despite the previous response saying there were no plans to replace the doors with a new design.
- When and why did the university decide to change the design of this doorways?
- Can I please request a copy of all emails/memos/other internal documents from last year relating to these doors, as well as to this OIA and the Salient article it influenced?
Yours faithfully,
JD Nihils
