Dear New Zealand Police,
I am a resident of Auckland city and was concerned that Mayor Len brown had received 3/4 million dollars from an unincorporated trust the new Auckland council trust, which is a trading name for person and persons unknown .
Case law established that incorporated trusts have no legal standing as a leg la person and this is done through the trustees.
The funds which came to mr Brown by way of election funding over two elections has therefore come through an anonymous medium .
the local electoral act is quite specific that anonymous donations beyond a certain sum cannot be retained.
I made a complaint to Bruce Thomas the electoral officer in December 2013 and was advised that this would be passed on to the Police .
I have made several requests for the file number and to ascertain what has occurred with the investigation .
Could you please by way of OIA provide me with the file number and the date the complaint was forwarded to the police and also please confirm that the police are dealing with this matter.
