Upper Hutt City Council
Kia ora Eric,
Thank you for your below Local Government Official Information and
Meetings Act 1987 (the Act) request dated 5 December 2021.
We reviewed our initial settings on 16 December 2021, and the outcomes of
that review can be found here:
[1]https://www.upperhuttcity.com/News/Decem.... We decided
to keep the settings the same as the initial risks assessed had not
changed.
We reviewed these decisions again on 22 ^ December 2021, in light of the
announcement of a case that had visited various locations of interest in
the Hutt Valley. Given this and the high transmission rate of the Delta
strain, we made the decision to change the settings at our public
facilities, moving to more restrictive settings. More information on that
decision can be found here:
[2]https://www.upperhuttcity.com/News/Setti....
Also for your interest, we have published a report on our website that
went through a Council Meeting on our implementation process of the Covid
Protection Framework at Council Facilities, which can be found at the
following link (pages 562-613 from the full agenda):
[3]https://www.upperhuttcity.com/Your-Counc....
This should provide an in-depth look into how we came to the decisions we
did.
I’ve also attached a few additional documents which will provide some more
context to the overall process.
If you have any further questions on this request, please get in touch. If
you are dissatisfied with our response, you have the right to seek an
investigation and review by the Ombudsman. Information about how to make a
complaint is available at [4]www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800
802 602.
Kind regards,
Michael
