Dear Cody

I refer to your request regarding the Register of Interests for Aaron Keown.

Cr Keown did not file a return in 2019. Therefore, your request is refused on the basis that it does not exist, pursuant to section 17(e) of the LGOIMA.

Although it was council policy to file a return, the legal requirement under the Local Government Act 2002 for elected members to provide a return of pecuniary interests did not come into force until 2022. Cr Keown has complied with this legal requirement.

You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review our decision. Complaints can be sent by email to [email address].
