On behalf of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment I
acknowledge your email of 09 February 2024 requesting under the Official
Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following:

 

‘I am writing to request detailed information regarding the Parent
Resident Visa applications submitted to Immigration New Zealand.

 

Specifically, I am interested in understanding the diversity of the
applicant pool and would appreciate if Immigration New Zealand could
provide detailed information on the following points for each submission
month from January 2023 to January 2024:

 

1. The top five nationalities of principal applicants for the Parent
Resident Visa.

2. The number of applications submitted by applicants from each of these
top five nationalities for each month.

3. The number of applications that are still in progress, by applicants
from each of these top five nationalities for each month.’

 

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible, and no
later than 08 March 2024, being 20 working days after the day your request
was received. If we are unable to respond to your request by then, we will
notify you of an extension of that timeframe.  If you have any enquiries
