Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 request, received 24 September 2024.
Your request has been logged with the reference OIA3406, and you can expect to receive a response within 20 working days.
We will be in touch if we have any questions, or if we need to extend the time taken to answer your request. I note you have asked for approximately a year's worth of internal correspondence in addition to reports/briefings/external correspondence; I will have a chat with our subject matter experts to see what they hold, but I just wanted to signal in the first instance we might need to work with you to refine this part of your request a bit further.

I refer to your Official Information Act 1982 (OIA) request, reference OIA3406.
The OIA requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no later than 20 working days after the day we received your request. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our decision, to 31 October 2024.
This extension is necessary because your request necessitates a search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with our operations and internal consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such that a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
Please know that we will endeavour to get this information to you as soon as we can.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about how to make a complaint is available at http://www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/ or freephone 0800 802 602.
