Changes in Executive Spend since 1 July 2024

Evans made this Official Information request to Health New Zealand

Response to this request is long overdue. By law Health New Zealand should have responded by now (details and exceptions). The requester can complain to the Ombudsman.

From: Evans

Dear Health New Zealand,

Please can you provide the total salary expenditure (per month) for all Tier 1, 2 & 3 management and Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner roles within Health NZ as of 1 July 2024 and the same information as of 25 September 2024. For avoidance of doubt, this should include permanent, contract and fixed-term staff.

Yours faithfully,

Richard Evans

Tēnā koe Richard

Thank you for your email of 27 September 2024, asking for the following
information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act):

Please can you provide the total salary expenditure (per month) for all
Tier 1, 2 & 3 management and Commissioner/Deputy Commissioner roles within
Health NZ as of 1 July 2024 and the same information as of 25 September
2024. For avoidance of doubt, this should include permanent, contract and
fixed-term staff.

This email is to let you know that Health NZ needs more time to make a
decision on your request.

The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our
decision, to Thursday 14 November 2024.

This extension is required because the volume of information is such that
a proper response cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit
under section 15A(1)(a) of the Act.

If you have any questions, please contact us
at [1][email address]

If you are not happy with this extension, you have the right to make a
complaint to the Ombudsman. Information about how to do this is available
at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or by phoning 0800 802 602.

Kia ora Evans,

I apologise for the delay in providing our response. The time taken is not
what we aspire to. This is something we are working to get on top of, as
we deal with a high volume of requests and the understandably high public
interest in our work.

At this stage, we do not have a specific timeframe available, but will
provide the response as soon as possible.

Ngā mihi,

Dave
Government Services Team

From: Evans

Dear hnzOIA,

I note in your response that you have only answered half of the question. Your response notes that I was seeking total salary information for Tier 1, 2 and 3 management staff and Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner roles as at 1 July 2024 and as at 25 September 2024.

Your letter only details the value as of 30 September and not 1 July. Please could you provide the value as of 1 Jul 2024 in order to complete this request.

Yours sincerely,

Evans
