Kia ora University of Auckland,
The university will soon disestablish the undergraduate Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and is planning to, in future, re-route social work students through the new Bachelor of Social Justice (BSJ) and into postgraduate courses.
Please provide:
- Annual enrolments in the BSW, BSW(Hons), PGDipSW, MSW, and MSW(Prof) respectively for the years 2016-2024, and please also include projected enrolments in each for 2025-2026.
- Projected enrolments for the BSJ in 2025-2026.
- Any discussion materials, other documents, and communications between any senior management staff, the EDSW Dean's office, and the Head of School's office related to the decision-making process for the disestablishment of the BSW; including but not limited to any that consider or mention the problems that the disestablishment and future BSJ proposal will cause for student access in terms of funding

I refer to your request of 1 November 2024.
As consultations necessary to make a decision on your request are such
that a response cannot reasonably be given within the original time limit,
the University has extended the time limit for your request under section
15A(1)(b) of the OIA. The new maximum time limit for the University’s
response is 20 December 2024; we will respond to your request as soon as
reasonably practicable. You have the right to make a complaint to an
Ombudsman if you are dissatisfied with this extension.
