Is there a provision for family members of police staff to receive preferential treatment?

Craig Shearer made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police

The request was successful.

From: Craig Shearer

Dear New Zealand Police,

It has recently come to light that the New York Police Department officers routinely issue "get out of jail free" cards to family members which allow family members to receive preferential treatment.

Please see: http://marginalrevolution.com/marginalre...

Is there any equivalent policy (official or otherwise) here in New Zealand?

Yours faithfully,

Craig Shearer
