Dear New Zealand Transport Agency,
Can you please confirm whether the speed limit on the new Puhoi to Warkworth motorway will be 100kph, as recently reported?
If that is correct, please provide any information you have that explains why this speed limit has been chosen as opposed to the 120kph which would be normal for a motorway of its apparent standard in Europe. I would specifically like to know whether the road has been designed to a lower standard than required for a 120kph road, or whether its design is in fact suitable for 120kph speeds but the lower limit has been chosen for reasons unrelated to the design of the road - in which case I would like to know those reasons.
