Request to see heritage reports regarding the Gordon Wilson Apartments c. 2012

Kate Linzey made this Official Information request to Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities

The request was partially successful.

From: Kate Linzey

Dear Kāinga Ora–Homes and Communities,

Further to the request made by Robert Whitaker in 2020 regarding “the potential renovation or repair of the Gordon Wilson and McLean flats buildings in Wellington, formally owned by Housing New Zealand.”

We believe a heritage report was completed (possibly by Russell Murray) around 2012 that included a maintenance assessment of the Gordon Wilson Flats structure.

We also believe Beca was commissioned to complete a structural assessment of the Gordon Wilson Flats around this time.

Could we please see these reports and any other structural and maintenance reports completed on the Gordon Wilson Flats completed between 2000 up to the time when the building was divested.

Yours faithfully,
Kate Linzey on behalf of the Architectural Centre Wellington
