Public servants - Office capacity for workers

B. White made this Official Information request to Nicola Willis

Nicola Willis did not have the information requested.

From: B. White

Dear Nicola Willis,

Regarding your press release https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/new-...

Please supply details of how many (and which agencies) public service agencies have sufficient facilities to cater for their entire office based workforce coming into their home office on any given day.

Where there is a shortfall - please supply details of numbers of employees that cannot be catered for at each agency and any further detail that might help understand said shortfall.

For clarity sufficient facilities would encompass:
- sufficient and suitable desk space for all workers, considering appropriate ergonomic needs (not accommodating office workers by making them work at break out tables, or in kitchen spaces)
- no breaches of occupancy limits on buildings
- sufficient amenities such as toilets, and break rooms to accommodate all staff

I assume this would have been detail that you collected before communicating the expectations in the above linked press release.

Yours faithfully,

B. White

Could be worth sharing to the media. Interesting that the Minister made an announcement regarding public servants in offices and did not consider such a situation (evidence of lack of consideration being that she/her office does not hold anything for a consideration to be made).
