Amount of type 1 warrants authorised by year
RC made this Official Information request to Government Communications Security Bureau
The request was successful.

Dear Government Communications Security Bureau,
While the GCSB does not carry out mass surveillance, they are under limited circumstances as outlined in the Intelligence and Security Act 2017 able to obtain a "type 1" warrant to collect information on New Zealand citizens and permanent residents.
Please detail how many of these warrants were issued per year since the act came into force.
I do not believe section 6(a) of the OIA applies to this information in a simple warrants issued per year form and would only serve to give an idea as to the scale of New Zealand's domestic intelligence gathering apparatus.
Yours faithfully,
RC
