Australian Citizens denied entry to new zealand because of legal content posted on youtube
troy mcclure made this Official Information request to Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment
This request has an unknown status. We're waiting for troy mcclure to read a recent response and update the status.
From: troy mcclure
Dear Ministry of Business, Innovation & Employment,
Recently I have been made aware of a "Clay Wong" who was denied entry to New Zealand.
Clay is an Australian citizen who has no criminal history in NZ or Australia yet was denied entry.
I also know of a Avi Yemini who faced the same discriminatory behaviour who is also an Australian citizen.
Also there is Candace Owens and Ishowspeed who have also been denied entry due to someones feelings in immigration and not actual legistration but they are American so a visa is required anyway but I mentioned them to show a pattern.
I would like to know dating from the 1st of January 2023 until present how many Australian citizens have been denied entry to New Zealand due to posting content on Youtube...
I would also like to know the justification behind these denials because I dont remember new laws being passed saying it is illegal to film and post videos on youtube.
This is another blight on our freedoms of speech and I think whoever is sitting behind a desk at immigration creating their own laws and enforcing them should be held to account.
Yours faithfully,
troy mcclure
