Speed Measuring Equipment
David Burgess made this Official Information request to New Zealand Police
The request was successful.
From: David Burgess
Dear New Zealand Police,
I understand that some variants of the Stalker DSR radar units that have been used by the police have software and/or hardware modifications that are unique to New Zealand.
(1) What are the differences between the NZ and International Units ?
(2) Why were the changes made - what was the reason for NZ to have a different model to overseas users ?
(3) Can I please have user manuals and police instructions for the deployment and use of the speed measuring equipment that is used in New Zealand ?
(4) Is equipment used in New Zealand given an independent test by Industrial Research or some other agency before it is deployed in New Zealand ? If so, can I please have copies of their reports ?
Thank you very much.
Yours faithfully,
David Burgess
New Zealand Police
Dear Sir/Madam
Thank you for your email, which we have forwarded to the correct
department for follow-up.
