Glen Innes wastewater upgrade-traffic management
Donna McMillan made this Official Information request to Auckland Transport
The request was partially successful.
From: Donna McMillan
Dear Auckland Transport,
I am requesting correspondence (email, texts, and phonelogs) between Auckland Transport, Watercare and Fulton Hogan, and NZ Police regarding traffic management and monitoring due to the congestion caused through the closure of traffic Northbound up Elstree Ave, including discussion on whether lights at the Elstree/Taniwha roundabout would relieve the huge congestion problem now happening at the Apirana/Pt England Road and Merton Road roundabouts particularly between the hours of 4.00pm-6.30pm.
I understand there is constant monitoring of this and that there was discussion about traffic lights but, as quoted by Fulton Hogan "" the implementation of traffic lights there has been a large amount of discussion surrounding this, however it has been deemed that to install these would just cause more confusion and additional delays therefore will not be an option"".
I would like to therefore see the discussion, and consultation undertaken to look at the impact of closing Elstree Ave Northbound.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Donna McMillan
