“I am interested whether the death and injury rates on roads which had a
speed reduction has been reported on by the Ministry.

 

The roads in question are ones which had speed reductions (50-30km/h,
100-80km/h) which the Transport Minister is seeking to reverse.

If such work has previously been done, for example in preparation of the
initial speed reduction program, I request any reports, memos, analysis
done.

 

If there has not been any work done, I request any data held relating to
deaths and injuries for the speed reduction roads for 1 July 2014 - 1 July
2024.

 

I request a full list of these roads, separated into the two speed bands
if possible, and the number of deaths and injuries on those roads for 1
July 2014 - 1 July 2024.”

 

We will endeavour to respond to your request as soon as possible, and in
any event no later than 25 October 2024 being 20 working days after the
day your request was received. If we are unable to respond to your request
by then, we will notify you of an extension of that timeframe.

 

The Ministry publishes Official Information Act responses on our website
when there may be wider interest in the information released. This means
the information provided to you might be published after you have received
